This 1972 Ford Gran Torino has been rebuilt as a period-era hot rod. Essentially the owner looked at how it would have been upgraded in the in the 70’s. This was a frame-off restoration. Meaning this baby is better than it rolled off the factory floor.

The engine has been upgraded from a 351 to a Ford 385 series 460 cubic-inch big-block. Displacement was increased to 521 cubic-inches (8.4L). These engines are beasts and known for their power. It was the basis for the amazing Boss 429. Unfortunately they were the last breed of big-blocks for Ford.

  1. I have a 1972 gran torino with a stock 460 big block, I want to know how your engine was placed in. Did you need to weld in engine brackets because the owner before me welded them in and the engine looks crooked. Plus it’s just overall a crappy job from the previl us owner.
