Griot’s Garage decided to build a very special detail vehicle for SEMA 2016. The basis for the project is a 1989 BMW E30 touring wagon. Although the wagon is setup to detail other vehicles with a water tank and hose the modification we are most interested in is the power plant. Griot’s Garage had a M60 V8 from a 1995 E39 540i installed under the hood. This is connected to a six-speed manual from the same E39 540i with a LSD rear end with 2.91 gears. The wagon has also had been upgraded with coilovers and Brembo brakes.

Did they remove the rear doors? Stock E30 wagons had 5 doors, and on this one I see only 3.
Doors out of 2 door sedan/m3, front and rear fenders out of m3. Yes Touring (wagon) had 5 doors.
