While researching for an article I came across an auction listing for a Plymouth Prowler with a Toyota 2JZ-GTE. It was very nice to see the project because we last covered it was in 2008. The factory V6 was removed and the inline-six was installed by Titan Motorsports in Orlando, Florida. The engine was upgraded with Titan parts and Precision 71 mm turbocharger which helps it produce 800 horsepower. Behind the engine sits a three-speed GM Turbo 400 automatic transmission. The factory Prowler rear subframe was completely replaced with a Mk4 Supra subframe.

I read the write-up from 2010 and the comments….OMG Haven’t seen that much ire since I’ve been reading regularly. The new owner has over 60K tied up in it so I’m betting they like it. I hope they drive it and get it out so others can see it.
The 2jz is a cool engine, but if I was gonna swap I’m thinking a SRT type hemi might be my first choice..
Haha yes some of our articles have resulted in some heated comments.
Good luck fitting a hemi in that cramped engine bay.
Inline engines are way easier to squeeze into these things.
I mean, it has been done, I’ve seen a V8 Prowler in person, but the mill didn’t fit like this thing does.
Just seems easier to put something inline in it.
This one looks pretty good.

Very nice project. Even installed the shaker hood.
Yes, this was the one referenced in your previous write-up…
