Traian Buse is a professional drifter in Bucharest, Romania. He competed several years in a BMW E30 however in 2015 he started building a Nissan S14. Traian chose to power the coupe with a twin-turbo V8 however instead of using a LSx or VK56 he went with a 4.5 L V8 from a Porsche Cayenne. The engine produces 600 horsepower and 800+ Nm (589+ lb-ft) of torque from upgraded turbos.

Nice article! Thx for mention us! Keep up with the good work!
Thank you. What transmission and rear end/diff are you using?
If I may ask, did you use the stock computer or an aftermarket and what turbos did you upgrade to?
Did you have to custom make a bellhousing for a new transmission?
THE perfect engine for a Porsche 968 or 928 swap for more power and keep it Porsche.
Before people wonder, in Romania (and Europe as a whole), that Porsche V8 will be easier and cheaper to source and to maintain than your typical grey import US LS or VK, and it was offered as TT from factory (compared to other typical swap options like N/A BMW or Merc V8s). First gen Cayennes sold like sliced bread, and many already ended up on the scrapheaps.
Thank you for sharing that. I wonder if interest in them will increase? I have written about two projects in the past months powered by Porsche TT V8s.
Biggest issue I see is the availability of standalone ECUs, as running these of the standard one won’t be easy outside of the Cayenne…so much stuff splicing into the ECU and throwing codes when it’s not there. I know a bit about Megasquirt wiring but thats about it regarding ECUs.
