Talk about a wild project. I don’t believe we have written about a swap with so many years difference between the vehicle and motor. Here we have a 1937 Mercedes-Benz 540K (1936–1940) with a modern Viper V10 and 48RE four-speed automatic transmission sourced from a Ram SRT-10 truck. The car rides on a custom chassis with Corvette suspension and Dana 44 rear end.

  1. Could this be the ultimate street sleeper? I really hope so, as I’d like to see it on the strip. I was thinking of envisioning something similar as a model.

  2. As good looking as this car is, it isn’t a 1930 Rolls-Royce … it’s a 1937 Mercedes 540K. I recognize it from a visit to another web site and I can even see the Mercedes star in these pictures.

    1. You are absolutely right. The star is staring me right in the face. Looking back I have no idea what I was thinking when I published it. Thanks for bringing it to my attention and I will correct it.
